I feel kinda ashamed...because as often as i've visited stone mountain park, and the fact that I lived in stone mountain for years, that I only JUST found out about Weeyums in 2015. I corrected that mistake and went in to place an order. When you step in the first thing you'll notice is there's no tables for sitting. Nope, get your food and go! The second thing you'll notice is the really cool artwork all over their walls and counters, but before any of that, it's the smell that will get your mouth watering immediately. I ordered their cheese steak ($7), a footlong of amazing steak, onion and mayo, with bread that doesn't at all get soggy. I also got a side order of fries with season salt. Right from the first bite, the flavor just put a huge smile on your face...the cheese was flavorful, the meat steak was tender, and the bread held together. My only complaint is I wish there were more onions, and I should've asked for some peppers. Otherwise, top notch! The fries were crinkle cut and also easily devoured. In addition to the cheese steaks, Weeyums serves burgers, wings, Hoagies and even veggie steaks, so come one come all. They cook everything to order, so expect at least a 10 minute wait, but that's okay, they've got pac-man in here, as long as you have a quarter to play it! Okay, okay, there's a tv in there as well. Very small store with very BIG flavor right in the heart of Stone mountain, that you'd be silly to pass up. GO! Now!!

It's my third week here in Lithonia from Boston. When I arrived I was told by locals that there were not any good steak and cheese shops around that would compare to Joes Famous Steak & Cheese in Roxbury, Ugi's or even D'Angelos. I felt like I was sacrificing my steak & cheese for soul food ( which I still have not found the best). So with expectations being low, we decided after 3 weeks to try Weeyums based off of Yelp reviews and conveniency. To our surprise, our philly style steak & cheese, mayo, onions was super tasteful, cheesy and well seasoned. The soft sub was full of meat, cheese and just enough of grease. As far as the service is concerned, the staff seemed very polite and had put our sandwich together just as we walked through the door (20 minutes after initial call). It's nice to know I have a place to write home about. Now I'm searching for the best soul food. Thanks Weeyums!

Food: Now the food here was pretty good. If i had to compare them to a actual Philadelphia Philly, I'd say it was just ok though. But for atlanta standards, I'll go with "pretty good" If you ever ordered a philly from the standard run of the mill spot in ATL, you know they usually range from horrible to ok. Size: The size of the philly was just like what you expect in Philadelphia, this thing was huge. You can definitely split one between two people. Fries: they were just ok, coulda been better. they don't seem to much "soul" into the fries. Getting There: Keep on the lookout and obey the traffic laws in city of stone mountain, as they get "ticket happy" at times. Parking : This was tricky. I didn't have an issue getting in, but getting out is like a big blind spot, hard to see the oncoming traffic backing out.

This place kind of reminds me of the varsity. I don't quite understand the hype of these cheesesteaks. While the bread was soft. And the meat plentiful, it lacked real flavor and seasoning. I could make better at home.

So, my quest for the best "Philly" Cheesesteak in ATL continues at Weeyum's. Just thinking about it makes me salivate because I grew up on Cheesesteaks--the REAL ones from South Philly. Which, by the way we just call it a "cheesesteak". Anyway, after being away from the Northeast for over a decade, I have sought out numerous restaurants claiming to make the best interpretation of the Philly Cheesesteak. And, I've come to understand how difficult it can be to duplicate this much beloved sandwich. Then, I found Weeyum's...thanks to my wonderful fellow Yelpers! You've probably already noticed, but let's just get it out of the way...this place is a "hole in the wall", but No Shade :-). Here's what you should know: *Parking is tight...I circled the block and a space opened up thankfully. *Order ahead if possible...I saw this tip on Yelp and its absolutely true. I called ahead 20 minutes and my food was being bagged up when I arrived. *The cheesesteak itself is a great representation of Philly's: --Greasy, cheesy and meaty. Yes! --They got the Bread right...which some will argue is key to authenticity. FYI, the Amoroso roll is crusty on the outside and fluffy inside. Yes! --The meat is finely chopped and tender, as it should be. Yes! --The cheese is a choice of American or Provolone (no Whiz, which is popular in Philly, but so is provolone). Unless, you specify, you'll get American. --Also, your cheesesteak will come with onions and mayo unless you specify otherwise. As information, they also have mushroom cheesesteaks, cheesesteak hoagies and various pepper toppings, but if you're wanting to be a purist...try the cheesesteak with the onions only and see what you think. Lastly, consider getting a season pass to Stone Mountain Park and hike the mountain to burn off the 2000 calories you just ate LOL...Happy eating!

I've been coming to Weeyums since I first moved to Georgia in 2010. Being from up north (so close to Philly), I've had some great cheesesteaks! Weeyums has become one of my favorite places for cheesesteaks, fried whiting (fish) and cheese fries. I used to live in Stone Mountain but I still make the 15/20 minute drive for my favorite place! Now, there isn't anywhere to eat unless you want to eat in your lap. There aren't any tables. The place used to be EXTREMELY basic. Now, it's just basic. LOL. They've painted the wall and added some color which gives Weeyums a little bit of POP. The cheesesteaks are basic - but they don't need anything more than the salt/pepper, mayo and onions. You can get olives, mushrooms, etc at will. I like my simple and plain. They don't even need ketchup! (and KETCHUP - I put that SH*T on everything). They cheese fries come with the dipping cheese that I absolutely love. I tried their fried fish recently. The whiting was awesome sauce! Fried well and has fries and 2 pieces of bread. All for $5! I will definitely get this again. (Not better than the cheesesteak but definitely almost just as good). There is a wait because they make everything fresh to order, so I recommend that if you know what you want - call ahead and order. We were there about 30 minutes before we got our food. Combine this with having to drive home - I wasn't too happy but I already knew what I was getting myself into so I could barely make it past my kitchen to the dining room to eat the delicious goodness!!

The cheesesteaks are amazing and well worth the price! But it does take a while to get your food but definitely worth it!

I rarely ever update my reviews unless there is truly something new worth saying. Well, since I wrote my original review for Weeyums almost three years ago I've traveled all over the city in search of a great cheesesteak. I've even been to Philadelphia in that time and experienced this delight from the home of cheesesteaks. Although I still have a few more places to visit here in Atlanta, I've tried better that 12 different restaurants claiming to have amazing Philly's. Some I've reviewed while others I didn't even bother. Today I boldly claim the search is over. I've been comparing every cheesesteak I've tasted in these past three years to Weeyums and none have come close. My latest attempt to top Weeyums was @ Fred's Meat & Bread in the Krog Street Market, a really trendy food haven in the heart of Atlanta's Inman Park. OMG this place is really cool, but I paid $14 (before tax) for a cheesesteak that I did not enjoy (see review: yelp.com/biz/freds-meat-… ). Add fries, a drink and taxes and my bill easily topped $21. Well, since Fred's didn't satisfy my cheesesteak craving, I traveled over to Weeyums the following day to see if the food here was as good as I remembered from my 2012 visit. I'm so pleased to say that for $10.81 (tax included), I had a delicious meal that INCLUDED fries and a drink! That's half the price I paid @ Fred's for twice the flavor. NOTE; I should also mention Fred's is owned and operated by acclaimed chef Todd Ginsberg while Weeyums is a mom and pop hole-in-the-wall (I say that with great affection for hole-in-the-walls) run by Philadelphia transplants. FINAL THOUGHTS It's official. I'm claiming Weeyums to be the best cheesesteak in metro Atlanta, period.

One bite of the Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie with the works made my mouth scream "Wee---Yum!!!". Buy one to take to Stone Mountain, eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. You'll have no choice but to love it. Penn Station Phillies are nothing compared to these. I only mention Penn Station, because they are a chain that you might be familiar with. The cashier/order taker was really nice and fun and the patrons keep coming back and who cab or would blame them. Highly recommend.

It's hard to tell from the outside of this eatery what to expect. Once you get inside you watch and hear your Philly cheese sandwich being prepared. You sit and wait in a row of chairs placed against the front wall for your named to be called. So far, nothing outstanding. When you're called to get your sandwich and seasoned fries, you are impressed with how fresh everything is and how great it smells. There is plenty of meat and cheese with the sauteed onions and peppers. A very tasty lunch.

Food was Very Good Probably the best in Ga Chesse steak was perfect Prices were good About 10 min wait for our food (2:00 pm on a Monday) Prices were good service was friendly The only reason I don't give 5 stars is there is no dinning area an parking situation is not good An most of all I passed by 10 times before deciding to give it a try BC it looks like a hole in the wall But give it a chance you won't be disappointed

The debate regarding the two best Philly cheesesteaks in the metro Atlanta area boil down to Roy's VS Weeyum's! Although I have recently tried both versions with the same fixings; onions, mushrooms and white american - I have to give Weeyum's the championship hands down!! I used to live in NYC for many years and have travelled to Philadelphia on several occasions to try "the real thing!" I also have family members that currently live in Philly who know what a Philly cheesesteak should taste like. On that note, I took my brother-in-law (who has resided in Philly) to Weeyum's and he said he was going to eat half of his sandwich there (outside on one of the two picnic benches) and eat the other half when we got home. Having already indulged here previously, I responded, "after you take your first bite bro, I don't think you'll be able to eat just "half." Sure enough, after his first bite he rolled back his eyes with his head tilted back and said, "Oh my God this tastes just like a cheesesteak straight from Philly!" He then added, "this is by far the best cheesesteak I have eaten in Atlanta in my 13 years living down here! This is the #1 spot in the ATL! Anyone from Philly who needs a taste of the real deal needs to come here!" I couldn't agree more with my brother-in-law's response! The bread (real amoroso roll) is soft and delicate with the meat perfectly seasoned and chopped nice and fine! The onions were also chopped very fine and intricately incorporated with the meat and chopped mushrooms. The cheese was melted perfectly into the bread and meat and it wasn't too dry or too moist...Weeyum's got it JUST RIGHT!! I would highly recommend anyone in the metro Atlanta area to take a trip to Weeyum's for an authentic Philly cheesesteak experience! Weeyum's gets the win by KO!!

Agreed! The Philly is amazing!!.. Exactly like the street cart festival Philly I dream of. Both the chicken and beef are great! Their lemon pepper wings aren't bad either btw. The wait is incredibly long, so you should order in advance pass time by getting your car washed next door :-P

Im from Philadelphia and this is the best place to get a cheesesteak if you're not in Philadelphia. Not just in GA.

  • Fareed A.

The wait was long but the food was amazing. I ordered the mushroom Philly. We ate it about 15 mins later at home, the sandwich was still hot, the cheese gooey and tasty. Overall, this place is worth the hype.

5 stars for portion sizes, compared to the price. Those huge baguettes you see in the little display? Yeah, if you order a sandwich that baguette does NOT get cut in half. A great deal for $8.00 (mushroom cheese steak) or $7.50 (regular cheese steak). If you're coming here with a friend, I would actually recommend ordering ONE sandwich that you both agree on, and splitting it. That's the only way you'll have any hope of finishing the sandwich and not feeling like you've just condemned your insides to greasy purgatory. Which brings me to.... 1 star for food quality. I mean... I applaud the "cook to order" philosophy that they've got going here, but I was really unimpressed with the results. I ordered my mushroom cheese steak the way they usually make it, with mayo and onions, and the sandwich was just goopy; it fell apart. The bread quality wasn't very good, the steak was uninspired, and overall it just didn't taste like much. We also ordered Eggplant Fries as a side to split (tooooo much fooood), which was a poor decision in retrospect. Eggplant, when fried and breaded, is no longer recognizable as a vegetable... I'm not sure why I thought it would be a good complement to my greasy sandwich. I can't speak to authenticity, as this was the first cheese steak I'd ever eaten, but I may just not be a fan of the genre. This place is totally a hole in the wall, which is fine, but the food really wasn't up my alley. I felt nauseous with all the grease I had ingested. Other items you need to know: 1. There's zero space for dining in, just a row of chairs along the wall for customers waiting for pick-up 2. **CALL AHEAD**. The wait for us was 25 minutes, which I'm told is SHORT compared to what the waits they normally field.

Take out only but the best Philly cheesesteak spot I have been to in the South!!!! Prices are great, food is freshly cooked and service is friendly. Sandwiches are 12" filled with meat and toppings. Don't pass this spot up when in Stone Mountain

  • Gerald N.

I think this is one of the top 3 cheese steak spots in Atlanta. They have the soft bread good steak onion cheese ratio. When I'm on that side of town and I want a steak I hit this spot up. I ate the sandwich so fast I forgot to take a flick. They only serve foot longs so they are big enough to share. Don't ask I'm not sharing mine.

A great sandwich and a great value for the money!! I will go back. The parking is a bit tricky so watch it but well worth it. Friendly staff !!!

I had to take away some stars for the wait time. This place is ridiculous. You call ahead and they STILL make you wait when you get here. Haven't even started my food yet & they're not even crowded!! That's a piss poor way of doing business. Just tell people not to call in if you don't want to start cooking the meal early. I think they do it on purpose so that they don't waste time cooking food that no one picks up. They won't be getting my money anymore. I can't stand businesses that do this. Their food is not the best in town, so I can live without it.

When I first moved out here in Georgia almost a year ago, this place was one of the first spots I've noticed since I lived close by. My first thoughts were that this spot probably served mediocre & less than satisfying food because the whole place itself didn't even look like much at all from the inside AND outside. The building looked like it could use a LOT of renovation. It almost didn't look sanitary. I know that seems harsh to say but that was truly my first impression. Anyway, fast forward 8 or so months. Up until a couple nights ago, I was looking for nearby food businesses to try out and Weeyums popped up on my search. The good ratings genuinely shocked me enough to give this place a real shot this time. So today, I heeded the warnings of fellow yelpers of calling ahead. When I called, they told me it was gonna be a 35 min wait but it was actually a 45 min wait. It didn't bug me or anything though since I still got to where I wanted to go to on time. I ordered the special steak sandwich for my fiancé and the special chicken sandwich for myself. Both were good but the special steak tasted better than the chicken! The chicken had too much marinara sauce. I also enjoyed their spiciness level since there were jalapeños in it. Both sandwiches were equally stuffed with a lot of meat as it should since they each cost $9.50! For a side we got the cheese fries which weren't anything special--at all. They were regular fat fries with melted cheddar cheese for $2.75. They need to slightly update their online menu because they also had fried eggplants which I would've ordered instead. Last but not least, they only have bottled drinks. Got my man a fruit punch. Overall, my order totaled up to $26 and some change. Would I come back? Eh, only if my fiancé is having a Philly cheesesteak craving. Otherwise, the fact that I'm trying to eat healthy has a huge impact on me coming back anytime soon. The place wasn't bad at all though so if you love Philly cheesesteaks, definitely stop by! Update: Definitely order any cheesesteaks they have over their chicken! I took a bite of my fiancés leftover special cheesesteak and I'm definitely gonna kill this off when he leaves. Lol better to ask for forgiveness later than to ask permission now in this case. C:

So as people may notice my hubby and I are foodies we like to see what atlanta has to offer as I'm very knowledgeable of food and preparations so I like to see what kinda spin on the normal others like to try.we were in the area hubby always says you find some treasures in small places so we see weeyums he stops because he sees Philly cheese steak lol I noticed off the bat they were a Lil different as they put lettuce and tomato on the Philly or whatever they call it and then some vinaigrette yep vinaigrette on a Philly doing the most but didn't season the meat so it was bland. Definitely won't go back it may be good but it wasn't for me.

    (2)
  • Serena J.

Doesn't look that great from the outside, but it's definitely worth a try! The grade is a 100 if I recall correctly! Long wait for just one cheesesteak, but it was pretty good! Very big and filling.

  • Ray M.

3 stars for this place. I got the cheesesteak hoagie which was better than average for the south. The meat texture and taste was dead on. They placed pickles on the sandwich which isn't something I'm accustomed to on a Philly. But it did satisfy my overall craving and was of decent quality. Portion size was dead on with a Philly steak. The bread was tasty but not authentic in my opinion. It was your average roll. If they change the bread with something more authentic this place would be Worthy of Philly cheesesteak status. But it's still darn good. My favorite place is still Roys cheesesteaks in Smyrna. But Roys sandwiches are kinda small. Had a 25 min wait on a Friday night . Good service. Cost me about $9.30 with taxes.

...I absolutely love luv this spot. Some might consider it a whole in the wall but if you're ever in this neck of the woods, it's a MUST to try. I always get the mushroom philly cheesesteak hoagie and I'm never disappointed. To top it off, they load it w cheese for you. It is a black owned establishment and I love patronizing this spot. Great customer service.

  • Tommy B.

Cheesesteak was perfect. The sandwich is the ENTIRE piece of bread you see in the window. It's gotta be a solid 14"+. I didn't get hoagie style, but i did get the onion rings. Waited 10 minutes or so. I will probably call ahead next time to avoid the wait. They don't take American Express either. Five stars for taste and portions Three for convenience

    (4)
  • Cherise J.

The portions are definitely there, but I'm not tasting what others are raving about. I've had a few Philly's from Philadelphia and to me, this particular Philly's doesn't taste like the new age Philly that you get from Philadelphia. Weeyums reminds me of a traditional style Philly, but today, if you get a real deal Philly, you choose the cheese you want, which makes a huge difference in the outcome of the taste. To me, there are other places that can compete with Weeyums like Woody's in Atlanta who also maintain a traditional taste. Weeyums is not bad. By all means, if you're in the area and you want a Philly, go for it. You won't be too disappointed, but based on the reviews, I really thought that it would taste like a modern day Philly. Because Philadelphia is known for award winning Philly's, there's a lot of competition to move away from the traditional style Philly and I'm telling you the cheese is it. I was just in Philadelphia a few months ago and I tried a cheese on my sandwich that's not even sold in the grocery store and it completely made a difference in the overall taste of the sandwich. In Philadelphia, restaurants will even provide options with the type of bread you want to use and depending on the restaurant, you'll have several choices. Also, the seasoning is different. It's no longer just salt and pepper. It's a special blend with a hickory flair. Philly's are a bit different than they were back in the day. However, for all of you who like the traditional style Philly with limited options, Weeyums is cool. It took about 20 minutes to get my food and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't what I expected.

Omg this Philly is amazing!! It was worth the 25 min wait... i will return .. they don't have half subs so you will have to get the whole. . But hey lunch for the next day!!

  • Shavonia F.

Excellent Phillies. They taste great and are huge. I saved my second half for the next day and it was even better. Will be visiting again soon. Make sure to order ahead, like 30 mins.

  • Nida K.

This place is AWESOME!! I will most definitely be back here. They make everything to order and when you ask for extra meat (which I did) they will give you exactly the amount of meat that is in the original sandwich so you have WAY TOO much meat! I loved it!! It was messy and spicy and gooey and just all the way around good! If your looking for ambiance... go someplace else because this is not someplace you will enjoy eating your meal. Other than that - - go to Stone Mountain!!

If you have ever been to Philly, you know these are the real deal. YOU BETTER CALL IT IN

    (5)
  • Wes T.

There are only two places in Atlanta to get cheese steaks The Mad Italian and this place Weeyums. Not much of a restaurant but I like it like that I can call in my order for lunch and swing by and pick it up and be in and out. Calling in your order is also smart. Called in one time and there was an hour wait and I was kind of in a hurry so had to grab something else. But a hour wait on a Friday at 11:50 in the morning should tell you just how good these cheesesteaks are. There is nothing wee about how yummy these things are.

Need to upgrade the phone system for call in orders. Need to clean the dust off the ceiling tiles. Brighten up the place just a tad. cheese steak would have been great if the mayo was not on it that I did not ask for. I may stay in Lawrenceville for cheese steaks if the service does not improve.. I want to support though!

What a find. What do you do when you have to drive out to Stone Mountain for a business function? You go grab a Filthy Cheese at Weeyums! Are people actually complaining they have to wait for their food? Would you rather have something cooked to order or do you prefer a microwave? Here is a tip: there is this thing called a cell phone, and Weeyums has this thing called a phone number. When you put to two together, and call ahead....guess what...your food will be ready for you. Every time. I promise. This is a perfect cheesesteak place. Hole in the wall, no frills, greasy, tastes damn good, better than Woody's in my book. So if you find yourself in the Stone Mountain area, get a foot long here, and call ahead. Jeez. Welcome to Yelp, the new Citisearch!

This place wouldn't make rent in the state of PA and probably would get ran out of Philly. It's certainly not Genos or South street quality but that being said, it will do until you find yourself in Philly to get the real thing.

Since I had no prior idea of to when this place was opened or if it had a website, I decided to make the trek to Stone Mountain Sunday, only to be disappointed to find this place closed. I was not only heart broken, but this only meant I HAD to come back. I got off work today, and I just had that craving. That deep burning sensation, that I was going to get Weeyum's today, no matter who/what was in my way. So I took a nap, and headed out around 12:45P with one of my buddies. Getting to Stone Mountain Village around 1:30, I decided to park my car in the general parking area next to the "train depot" and took about a block walk to Weeyum's (after finally seeing there was plenty of parking, but oh well, it was a nice day and needed the exercise). Got in there at stared at the menu for a moment. Now I realized one thing- the amount of sides they had for options, the sandwiches, the drinks, and even salads. Hell, even the drinks were plentiful, and at $1.25, cheaper than most places. I ended up ordering 3 cheesesteaks- 2 w/onions, cheese only, and 1 with cheese/onions/special sauce. I ended up having one of each, and I gave my buddy the other one. The food came out fairly quickly, as we were the only people in there. You have the option to play Pac-Man while you wait, but it wasn't necessary. The lady called my name, and then we paid, and left. Since there is only seats and no tables, we decided to look for a place to eat outside. So about 100 yards away under a big tree, we found a nice picnic table and enjoyed lunch there. I won't lie, it was nice! And then the cheesesteaks came. Holy Mary Mother of God, those were the hands down best cheesesteaks I have consumed that I didn't make. The bread was soft, and melded with the cheese and meat like a White Castle Double Cheeseburger. They were so good, I ate BOTH of my footlongs before my buddy ate is one. I almost went back to buy more for the trip home, but I knew it wouldn't be in our best interest(s). Most places, they get the meat and the cheese down, but the bread is usually hard to master. Today, I found the trifecta like no other. And for the price I paid (although I used a few gallons of gas), and the service I got, I am going to see if not only I can get the owner's autograph, but see if they can provide an IPO. This is a not to be missed in the Metro Atlanta! I cannot wait to go back and try other things. Oh yea, did I mention they have Jolly Rancher Watermelon soda? I had no idea that shtuff existed! Right now, my quest is still ongoing to see if I can find a place to top this cheesesteak, but now, this is my No 1!!!

So, I do a lot of local travel for my job and passed this place every other week for about 6 months. The place kinda scared me so I didn't stop but when I did I realized I've been missing out!! Don't let the appearance fool you if you've not tried the place. I had the mushroom steak sandwich with cheese and it rocked! It was huge!! It was pretty greasy but in a tasty way. It isn't something I would eat very often but a nice treat when you need a cheese steak fix. The service was friendly and helped me navigate the menu as a newbie. Do your self a favor and check it out next time your in stone mountain

The most authentic sandwich shop for Philly Cheese-steaks in this quarter of 285. My husband is from Philly and this is the only cheese-steaks he will eat. I am from Jersey and these are the only subs I will eat. Generous portions and good prices. Philly Connections should just close up shop! All of the other sub sandwich establishments should stop making Philly cheese-steaks as far as I am concerned. They are all impostors!!!

  • Trina J.

Holey Moley! A place this good is worth the twenty minute wait for your food. No, it was not packed. I assume they cut up the beef while you wait. I know. Just pop a squat and wait like everyone else. Given my love for po boys and french bread, I have high standards when it comes to hoagies. This is coupled with the fact that Complex Carbs are not our friend so if I indulge, it better be worth it! Anyway, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie. The hoagie comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles and vinegar. This is also served with mayo and onions. In addition to this, the cheese was melted just right and the bread was sooooo soft. Prepared with just the right combination of meat and cheese.Totally delicious! We also ordered the onion rings and Weeyum's cheesesteak with special sauce too. Both were good. Nothing distinguishable about the onion rings. The cheesesteak with special sauce tastes a little like a manwich or sloppy joe with kick. I am not sure which but admittedly, I am not a fan of either so they are same to me. If you are a fan, you'd love it. It has cheese and peppers and it is just as messy. Thus, the reason, you are given a fork for a sandwich. Overall, I love this place and will definitely return. The. Best. Philly. Ever.

The first time I tried to eat here it was for a very late lunch & there was a 45 min wait. For a sandwich. The second time I called my order in & arrived when they advised. Much better plan. The food was really good but I don't recommend dropping in for a quick bite on a whim.

Finally a true philly spot. it is worth the drive and whatever line. that's all thats necessary to say. Great job!!

Had a taste for a really good cheesesteak. I live in the city of Atlanta and there's so many places near my home but haven't found one that I truly liked. I found this place on here and decided to take the chance and drive 30 mins to Stone Mountain for a good authentic cheesesteak! When I say I'm so glad I did. The Philly was worth every bite. I had one with steak, mushrooms, green peppers, onions and banana peppers! Never have I ever in my life almost ate a footlong Philly before. Everything was good and fresh! I advise calling in to place order before going because it is made to order and they are busy. It took almost 35mins for mines but well worth the wait. They have chips and bottled drinks as well! I most def will be going back and taking my friends.

This place was great. First time in Stone Mountain and I was looking for something tasty and filling for a mid afternoon lunch. The last time I had a Philly was when I was in Philly so I my expectations were so so before arriving. I ate the whole sandwich in 10 minutes and was blown away by how good it was. Well worth the 25 minute wait for a cooked to order Philly. I'll be going back again.

Oh Hell Yes. The building is not much to look at, but after my first SPECIAL I will settle for nothing less. Weeyums does it right, this was a taste explosion and I loved every bite. Thanks guys for an awesome cheesesteak!

  • Ryan H.

Can't rate based on the food because I was rudely told it would be a 25 minute wait... for a cheese steak?!?! Walked right back out. There's no reason for it to take 25 minutes for a cheese steak.

During my trip to Georgia last week, this was by far my favorite place that we ate at. I had the "special" and it was indeed that. The flavors were nice and layered and I loved the spicy kick. Great friendly staff, this should be on everyone's places to stop at if you're in the area.

About as good as Publix deli but somehow slower. My sandwich was great but it took them 20 minutes to make it. There were only a couple of other people ahead of me so I don't know why it took so long. The place was pretty dirty so maybe don't take republican mother in law with you.

This is the 2nd best sub I've had ever outside of Philly. Period! If they made triple delights they'd be #1 (triple delight; shrimp chicken cheesesteake all together. It's a B'More thing lol)

I was thrilled to drive here from N. GA for this cheesesteak, but boy am I disappointed. Chewy bread, blah meat, and barely edible veggies. Epic let down. Now for the hour long ride home of unhappiness. Best cheesesteak in ATL is still at Lucky's in ATL. I think O'Charleys may have this place beat. On the upside the staff was really friendly! Kudos to you night shift, but the food sucked.

Maybe I'm biased. I've had a Philly cheesesteak (in Philly) and I grew up on home-made Steakums. I was not impressed with my lackluster chicken philly from Weeyums. The good: nice people, free parking and a pretty quick wait. The bad: my sandwich tasted more like bread and mayo than chicken. Of course it was as long as my arm. I'd suggest making the philly half the size so at least it will feel like there's more meat. Sorry, I won't be returning.

Arrived at 10:25 and they're closed due to out of bread but they close at 11 and sale subs.

I ordered the chicken philly & I must say it was one of the best that I've had. If you're in the area, this is definitely a good place to stop and eat!

I love this place! It's a hole in the wall type of spot but you can't beat it. The Philly Cheese Steaks are awesome! They are not true Philly Cheese Steaks, but if you want that then go to Philly. The bread is soft and nice and chewy, and after the meat and cheese and onions are added it's perfectly soggy, exactly how is should be. The onion rings were delicious and everything is made to order (so be patient, you may have to wait a bit). And the Chicken Wings... Are JUMBO - I don't even like wet chicken wings, but the lemon pepper sauce they use is very good. These are the best wings in Atlanta and also the best priced!

Best Philly Steak outside Philadelphia . Trust me I Know. I am from Philly. There are very FEW places in ATL that can top a REAL Philly cheese-steak. Price and the wait time is well worth it. Tip: Call a head . It will take normally 20min to complete your order.

The place looks a little sketchy from the outside, and we almost didn't go in. I'm so glad we did, though. The philly cheese steak hoagie was really delicious and big enough for two people. The eggplant fries were really good, too. The meal was especially delicious after a long hike at Stone Mountain. I will definitely drop by when I come to Stone Mountain again!!

Just had to add to the reviews for this restaurant. The only thing wrong with this place is that there's only one of them and it's way outside of Atlanta - though well worth the drive. If you want the best cheese steak sandwich around, this is it. Nothing like a true Philly, but every bit a good as Geno's or Pat's, only twice as much sandwich and three times the friendly smiles for your money. It's a down home looking place and there are no tables, but there's a park across the street and a path to walk after you eat the huge sandwich. You just need to be "patient" because these cooks make them fresh -- you'll see what I mean.

This is the best least known spot in Stone Mountain, GA. I would recommend everything on the menu! Come with a appetite because the philly's are filling! U will want to start visiting now, right now!

After a rough time trying to find a place for lunch, we stumbled upon Weeyums. Honestly one of the best phillys I have had. It's was made fresh and exactly as I had ordered. We split an order of fries, and wished we had each gotten our own; they were so good! The cashier was so nice and very efficient. We will visit again next time we're in town.

I think this is the best Philly style cheese steak I can find close to me. I just happen to pass by it one day and made a note to check it out. I have eaten here a couple of times and it was delicious. I had my cheese steak loaded with jalapeno peppers and a serving of steak fries with the seasoning on it. The bread that they use is so soft and fresh. The only bad thing I can say is most of the time it takes awhile to get your food. I have even tried calling in, but they never seem to start on your order until your there to pick it up...lo! If you are ever in the stone mountain area please check them out.

Best cheesesteak sandwich we have ever had. Definitely call ahead or you will wait a very long time. We called ahead and they said 40 minutes but it was 50 minutes. A real hole in the wall and nasty looking but WOW awesome cheesesteak. We will come more often for sure.

  • Mary P.

By far, Weeyums has the best cheesesteak in Atlanta. Prepare your taste buds for the most doggone delicious sandwich you have ever put in your mouth. The cheese is plentiful and gooey and the bread is perfect. The people are super nice but call ahead to save yourself some time. The wait on a Friday evening can be upwards of an hour, so plan accordingly. There is no room to sit, so plan on taking it to go. Enjoy!

Food is great! Quirky policies seem to say to anyone in a hurry, don't come here! Was there recently to pick up a call in order, upon arrival it wasn't quite ready....3 mins more he stated . Had sleeping child in the car after an hour in traffic . With no one in line or on the phone was told they would not allow me to pay until my food was ready . Read the sign the cashier rudely barked. Of course just then 5 people came in putting me in a position to have to wait longer AFTER my food is ready for the cashier to finish taking other orders . The owner states it's because they want people to " relax". Very dumb thinking! Plastic chairs and NO tables . Like I said quirky or dumb but definitely NOT customer focused. Respect the customers time , you are a take out joint , act like it!!!!!!

Wee! and Yum. This place is beef and cheese heaven. Interestingly enough, I found out about this place while waiting outside of Ann's Snack Shop (which is THE beef and cheese heaven). This is the best cheese steak I've had so far (we'll see how that holds up, as I may move to Philly in a few months). But it was everything I was hoping it would be... beefy, cheesy, greasy. Bread was good too. Other reviewers say it's really big... I guess that's true, but I had no problem putting the whole thing down. Place isn't intimidating at all. I was afraid it would be one of those joints where you have to know what you want when you get there, otherwise you look like an idiot. Nope. Girl at the register could tell it was my first time, guided me through extra decisions, handed me a menu and suggested I call ahead next time if I didn't want to wait. Only thing missing from this place is seating - that would've been a fifth star.

The first time I had Weeyums it was damn good-but after going back at random times, it hasn't been the same-one time it was too salty, the other 4 times never lived up to the first. Customer service is ok..you will have to wait another 10 minutes even after they tell you 25 minutes for a call in...(just saying) This has been the case 3 times already...whats the point of calling ahead?? I'm not quite sure how long the wait would be if I didn't call ahead and i won't ever find out. The wait wouldn't be a problem if they had decent seating..although for the first time I noticed picnic tables in a little patch of grass today..im not sure how long that has been there..how about some decent chairs for your customers since there is no avoiding waiting? Just a thought..I don't think people would complain if there was at least a decent place to wait on their cooked to order food....parking is less than wonderful ..its an awkward spot..good luck trying to go in the opposite direction during traffic..bottom line- its better than Philly connection and all these other places in Georgia.

I stopped in the other day and plainly said "I'm here to see what all the fuss is about". They seemed confident that I would be back, and I will be. It was pretty damn good! The sandwich was massive, there was a ton of meat and it was tasty. I got the Mushroom Cheesesteak, hold the mayo. I will say, I was a little disappointed in the amount of cheese. There was soooo much tasty meat and there just wasn't much cheese. But, I'm totally willing to go back - I guess I just know to add extra cheese. I do wish that they had a 1/2 option, I couldn't eat all of it and the bun was a bit soggy the next day. I went in apparently past the rush time, I was in about 3pm on a weekday and I was the only one there. No waiting for me! However, I am splitting hairs here. It's worth it, it's damn fine food and probably the only place in the area to get a solid cheesesteak! Do it!

Everyone told me to go here and the place was delicious. They had the right blend of meat to spices to bread to everything. This was a very good sandwich. The only draw backs is that there is no where for you to eat in the joint. I had to eat at the park across the street (so glad it was a nice day outside). The place is very far away from me with nothing in that area. Good food, kinda slow service, remote location, and nowhere to eat.

As I am a frequent visitor of Stone Mountain, I have passed Weeyums many times without stopping in. This past Saturday was the exception. Craving some meat and French fries, I decided to give Weeyums a try. The spot was quite crowded, with people sitting in chairs next to the wall patiently awaiting their orders. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe with fries and was told that the wait was 20 minutes because everything was cooked to order. I noticed that many people had called ahead and came in to pick up orders. Most people ordered the cheese steaks and I saw that they seemed to be quite large. My cheeseburger was great, as were the fries. The prices were reasonable. However, if you are health conscious or need to drop a few pounds (like me), I would give them a pass. If you are sqeamish about hole-in-the-wall types of places, don't go (your loss). Since this is a busy take out place, I would also advise calling in your order.

Weeyums was a great start to my quest to find the best cheesesteak in Atlanta. Besides waiting almost 40 minutes for my sandwich (probably because it was Friday evening after 6pm), I was definitely pleased with the cheesesteak I got. That bad boy was packed with flavor and the right balance of meat and cheese to bread. The beauty with this sandwich was that the bread didn't overpower the meat and cheese in any way but was soft enough to actually adsorb all that awesome meaty flavor. Meat: 4/5 Bread: 4/5 Toppings: 3/5 - Mushrooms slightly undercooked Taste: 4/5 Yep - these guys are top of the rankings so far. Next up, Woody's.

One word: delicious!!!! The food smells outstanding while you're waiting on your order. Just a note for future patrons: you'll pay AFTER you get your food, so don't stand there looking dumbfounded (like I did...) when the cashier doesn't ask if it'll be cash or credit. LOL!

    (5)
  • Jeremy A.

This place is definitely the best cheesesteak I have had in the Atlanta area including Woody's. I seriously felt like I should give someone a High five after I finished my sandwich it was that good. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Biggest Philly I've had in a while!!! It's definitely bigger than a '12. I tried the special with everything and trust me it's enough to feed 2 or 3 EASY. And with fries and drink for about $11 You can't beat it. I would have gave them 5 stars but there is nowhere to sit inside and the Philly was great but had a tad bit tomato paste on it. I will be going again!!!

  • Thi T.

I've been coming here for almost 3 years. The best Philly in town. Beefy, cheesy, greasy and hot. Seriously, I drive from Roswell to Stone Mountain on the weekend, just for the Philly. Order ahead, as they have only seats to wait, and no tables. It's totally awesome!!! In fact, I'm driving down there today from my work in Norcross for me and some co-workers. I've had them in Philly and this is the closest you will get without being right there. If I could give them more stars...I WOULD!!!

Sweet Jeebus. We're talking about the most serious Philly Cheese steak in town. Rivalling Woody's in midtown. The Special. $9. Steak, provolone, onions, mayo, olives, sweet pepper, red pepper, green pepper, and pepperoni on a hoagie. Worth the trip out to historic downtown Stone Mountain.

  • Ebony H.

Weeyums is the ISH...The owner is straight from Norf Philly(my side of town) and he KNOWS how a REAL philly cheesesteak should be made!...LOVE this place and it is the only place I will go to in Atlanta for a Philly Cheesesteak...

  • David C.

Gona give this one a 3.3 for the Mushroom Cheesesteak. It was kind of .. lacking something. It was tasty, juicy, and it's sure better than a lot of other places, but, for one thing, there was no cheese. There is lots of mayo, and I'm a fan of mayo, but it was a lot. More mushrooms and onions would've been nice. The meat itself was above average, I like a bit more seasoning. Great bang for the buck though. 2 meals in one. But not today. Having worked up an appetite at Redan's 18 hole disc golf course, I ate the whole thing. So fulll!!! Mad Italian is worth a try if you're looking for other cheesesteaks close to or in ATL. Fans of this place might be mad at me for being picky, but hey, I've had better in Philly.

The greatest cheese steak ever! I rode by this place and had to check it out. It was packed. I ordered my food and had to wait 20 minutes, but well worth it. Actually the wait added to the experience. Next time, I will call ahead, and believe me, there will be a next time real soon! I promise!

I just recommended Weeyums to another Yelper so I figured I should actually review it. The hubby and I packed up on the motorcycle and headed out here on a whim. We were looking for a cheesesteak place we hadn't been to before and something that wasn't Philly Connection (puke). When we pulled up I wasn't sure what to expect because it is a very small place with no seating inside other than a few chairs where you sit while they cook your food. So don't come here expecting to be able to sit down at a table to eat. We each ordered a cheesesteak which we watched them make since you are standing directly in front of the cooking area. When it came time to hand over our food I nearly crapped when I saw how big they were. We could have easily ordered one and split it. No chinsing on anything here! We grabbed our grub and sat down on one of the concrete parking blocks to eat. It was fantastic! Just remember when you come that you can order one and easily split it between two people. They're huge! And on a side note, this is more of a personal thing, but contrary to what some other posters have said this place is NOT in Atlanta. It is in Stone Mountain. It drives me apeshit when people say things are in Atlanta when they really aren't in Atlanta. Go to Weeyums!

    (4)
  • Tyrone T.

Weeyums is great food without a lot of pretense. They have a friendly staff, reasonable prices, aim to please and are pretty convenient if you are in Stone Mountain. It does get a little crowded at times but your patience is rewarded besides that is what happens when you have good food :)

  • Byron Y.

Our experience with Weeyums didn't start out well, but my group (of 7) was sure glad we stuck with them. OK, first the not-so-good. The restaurant is a tiny, dingy, fast-food counter of a joint on the main drag through Stone Mountain village. Across the RR tracks from City Hall and across the street from a nice little park. It's likely you'd drive past it unless you knew something about the place in advance or you're like me and always take a chance on dives. Ordered (after much brooding) our 7 sandwiches and started our wait. Warning: most regulars probably have their menu memorized, so when turistas such as us showed up trying to figure out our choices, we probably wore their patience thin. The total wait time for our food was 40 min. For sandwiches, mind you. Not that I'm complaining, but just be aware that most customers just phone in their order, then mosey down after 30 min or something. Anyways, when we got our food, we sat down at the picnic tables in the park across the street and proceeded to wolf down the best philly cheesteaks I've ever had. (This includes a sample size of 4-5 places in Philadelphia proper). The sandwiches are a bargain considering the size of the portions. None of us could eat more than a half. The steak meat itself is thinly sliced, nicely grilled, juicy, and not overdone. Nice and tender, and actually tasting like steak, not some cheap chipped beef as is common in lesser places. The full monty includes mayo (lots of it), grilled onions, and 3 or 4 different types of peppers. Don't come here if you are a cardiac risk. To give you a feel for how good the food is, a fight broke out amongst our kids the next day over who would get to eat leftovers. Can't get any better than that. Anyways, plan in advance for a possible wait, don't act all antsy like we did ("got to slow down", as the head cook advised my wife), and enjoy a handcrafted sandwich to rival the best that Philly has to offer.

The best cheesesteaks I've had here in Atlanta by far, and well worth the trip to the little city of Stone Mountain even if you don't live or work nearby like I do. It's takeout only, no tables to dine at, but you can certainly take yours over and picnic at the park (the West gate entrance is just down the road and around the corner). Maybe cheesesteaks and the laser show -- hey, that sounds like fun. I'll have to try it.
